The monsters are reading the recently published part 3 of the Verhalenrijk books: Lente in het land (Spring in the Country), and it's such a cute book again! The story is so sweet, it explains how the seasons change and what you see happening outside in spring. There are some little experiments you can do yourself, which the monsters love!
It's so lovely outside in spring. All the animals are waking up or getting back, the sun is getting warmer, and everything that was bare is turning a fresh green. Then the birds look for twigs and straw and build their nests, and you can do the same in spring: build your own bird's nest.
The lovely illustrations in this book were created by Sandra Klaassen. The sweet rabbit hopping across the pages is very appealing to the little monsters, as are the beautiful flowers and animals. Absolutely beautiful! Do take a look at her website as well, there is more to see.
The great thing about this book is that it not only encourages independent reading but also teaches little monsters a lot without them even realizing it. They love the information interspersed with little experiments, facts, and crafts, and it's educational, which we appreciate.
