We read a beautiful picture book about the Moon Festival, which is a big autumn festival in Asia. In honor of autumn, the most beautiful lanterns are lit which the children take outside, very beautiful to see. The book is written by British author/poet Brenda Williams and brilliantly illustrated by artist Benjamin Lacombe.
The story is about little Lin Yi, who has seen the most beautiful lantern ever on the market. Would he have enough money in his piggy bank to buy it? The story is moving, also because of the beautiful illustrations, but fortunately it ends well. Too bad the book has not been translated into Dutch!
3 brightly lit stars for Lin Yi's Lantern, from the little listeners and their readers!
