We're making a cute, fun Chanukah gift for a little stuffed plushies fan. We're not going to tell you this stuffed dreidel is quickly made—it's a bit of a precision project, but also a fun project! Furthermore, we have already made a pattern for you. We hope the little recipient will love this Dreidel plushie for a long time ;))
How to make a cute Dreidel Plushie
Print the pattern and cut out all the parts
Pin the pattern onto the fleece.
Cut out 5 of the same squares.
Pin the triangle pattern on the fabric.
Cut out 4 of the triangles.
Pin 4 of the squares to each other.
Sew them neatly together.
Mind that the 'good' side is on the inside.
Sew the triangles a little way together.
Pin the straight side onto the squares.
Sew the triangles onto the squares.
Now you have sewn a neat row firmly together.
Now pin the triangles together.
Sew the triangles together.
Neatly cut off any excess threads.
Now we are seriously on our way.
Sew both the outer edges together.
Also pin the 5th square on top.
On three sides of the square.
Make sure the 'good' side of the fabric is facing inwards and leave the fourth side open for stuffing
Sew the top closed on 3 sides.
The 4th side is open to turn the fabric inside out.
Stuff the dreidel with sheeps wool stuffing.
Fold the open side a little inward and pin closed.
Close the opening using the ladder stitch.
Then you see no stitches on the outside.
Now the dreidel itself is ready
This is how you make the stick on top, which you can use to spin the actual top
Cut out the two parts.
Pin the stick together.
*Sew it and turn it inside out.
Sew the topside on the stick.
- *When turning the stick, a chopstick is helpful for pushing the fabric through!
- Then stuff the stick with sheepswool as well
- Sew the stick into the center of the dreidel with small but firm stitches
Cut the face out of felt leftovers and sew or glue it on.
Pin the arm pattern onto the wool felt and cut out 4 arms.
Pin 2 times 2 arms together,
Sew the arms with tiny running stitches together.
Stuff the arms with some wool and sew them onto the Dreidel.
Now your Dreidel is ready, a sweet Chanoekah gift for a little one!
Wishing you a Happy Chanoekah!
