Make a gnome house

to place in the garden

What do you need?
A flower pot and a matching saucer
Red and white acrylic paint and brushes
Craft foam in various colours
A pencil
Scissors
A cutting mat and an Exacto knife
Bison glue
A dabbing sponge

We're making a gnome house that can stand in the garden. It's a surprise for the little monsters now that spring is here again. We've made gnomes before; we just have to find them. Hopefully, it won't be too bad! If they see this cute mushroom house, they might just move in...

How you make a gnome house!

Coat the flowerpot with 2-3 layers of paint

Let the paint dry between layers.

Paint the saucer with 2-3 layers of red.

Allow the paiant to dry thoroughly.

While the paint is drying, we are already making decorations for the gnome house of crafting foam

Draw a border of grass on green foam.

Cut out the two halves of grass neatly.

Draw windows and a door on foam.

Cut out all three.

Cut cubes out of the windows.

Punch a door knob out of foam.

Pread glue over the grass borders.

Press the grass borders onto the flower pot and press lines in the door using scissors

Stick on the door and windows. above the grass.

Glue the saucer onto the flower pot.

Allow the glue to dry comletely again.

While the glue dries again, we make the decorations for the gnome house

Draw flowers onto coloured foam using a pencil.

Cut out various types of flowers, punch out flower hearts.

Stick the flowers all around the gnome house.

Dab with the dabbing sponge white dots on the red roof.

Tips for using the dabbing paint sponge correctly:

  • Press the sponge lightly in the paint and stamp gently on a piece of cardboard first
  • Then press the sponge onto the roof while holding it straight upright
  • Dabbing with the tool upright ensures your dots will be nice and round

Allow the dots to dry thoroughly as well.

Then we lsearch for the gnomes and put the gnome house on the sideboard.

Then the little monsters will immediately see the gnome house when they come in and place it themselves in the nicest spot of the garden

Happy Spring everyone!
