We make only desserts this weekend and after the American Lemon Cheesecake and the Italian Tiramisu it's the British Eton Mess' turn. Since the 19th century this dessert is served at the Eton colleges, after the annual cricket match against Harrow school. A lovely sweet dessert for everybody who loves strawberries and with an ready made pavlova easy peasy to make!
Wash the strawberries and remove the hulls.
Blitz half the strawberries shortly in the blender.
Cut the other half in four but keep four berries aside.
In a bowl whisk the cream and add the strawberry puree.
Fold the strawberry puree into the cream.
Crumble the meringue over the bowl.
Add the sliced strawberries and fold everything lightly together.
Fill glass jars with Eton Mess. But when eating outside with young kids a plastic cup may be more practical and harmless..
The Eton Mess will taste just a delicious ;D
