Launcher sidepicll

It is lovely weather, warm and sunny so the kids play outside. This morning we made a launcher, a cross between a slingshot and a crossbow, with which you can shoot cotton swabs. Let's see who shoots the furthest ...

Our youngest mini monster can not make the launcher work. He blows the furthest but by using only a straw ;) He plays with his self-painted 'airplane', he's having fun with it. that's also fine!

How to make a 'Plane Launcher'

We paint the lollipop sticks in various pretty colours.

Paint two sticks of each colour, paint 3 layers on each side.

Press glue on the sticks, glue 2 sticks together.

Wait until the glue between the ice sticks has dried completely.

Our glue gun is missing at the moment, we use strong Bison glue instead!

Glue the sticks cross wise under each other.

Allow the glue to dry completely, attach a clothes pin.

Meanwhile Puk cuts the straws in halves.

Glue two buttons on the ends.

Glue the halve straws on top.

Stick the cotton swabs in the straws, let one end stick out.

Twist the rubber bands around the buttons, pull one half back.

  • The glue is elastic, the 2 parts keep shifting when we put the rubber band on
  • Then the glue gun is thankfully found, now we can glue the two parts and the buttons firmly on top of each other

Just in time!

It needs a little practice to shoot the rubber band exactly against the Q tip. With this simple craft the mini monsters have so much fun, it's amazing!
