Today we make Totoro's two little friends. They are made very quickly and they are very cute! We start with Totoro Chibi (the small white one).
How to make Totoro Chibi
Print and cut out the pattern.
Pin the pattern on and cut it out.
Stitch it, turn it inside out and fill it.
Glue the eyes on.
Stitch the little tail.
Turn it inside out, thread and close it.
Ready!
How to make Totoro Chu
Print, pin and cut out like with Chibi.
Remove the patterns from the fabric.
Sew the tummy on and turn it inside.
Stitch Chu closed, leave the bottom open.
Turn the fabric the inside out.
Fill Chu up (use a stick for the ears).
Tread the bottom, pull closed and tie off.
Glue the lines and the eyes onto Chu.
Sew the tail on and Chibi and Chu are ready!
Now that all Totoro's are ready you can make some accessories for them. For instance a leaf (umbrella) or the fishing rods you see them pictured with all the time in anime comics. If you do make 2 extra 'tails' as arms for Chu.
Totoro himself is often pictured with a leaf on his head. If you google Totoro, Chibi and Chu you get inspiration just from looking at their pictures.
