We don't know how many Little Golden Books are printed, we do know that there are a loooot of them! Still, we buy one every time, so there is a big row of them in our bookcase. Here is another one that we couldn't walk past without taking it with us, luckily they are not that expensive ;))

Today we read about The first moon landing (with people) and what a special event that was! There was no internet, only television and it wasn't until 1968 that colour broadcasting was started in the Netherlands. Just in time to see the first people landing on the moon in 1969, you would think. But most people still had a black and white tv, the first colour televisions were very expensive. But despite that, everyone worldwide sat in front of the television to see this happen.

The First Moon Landing is another top part in the Little Golden Book collection. It provides a lot of information about the rocket that was used, the people who manned it and walked on the moon, about the entire space mission. Plus, it has lovely illustrations that capture the imagination! Even President John F. Kennedy looks like his photos from that time! :))

All is told in a very understandable way for children. Very factual and with all the correct dates included, exactly how the monsters - and we too - like it. This volume reminds us about a very important part of our human history and it is a real asset to our bookcase!

3+ beautiful stars for The first Moon Landing, from our young monsters and their out-loud readers!
