Room on the Broom is a very funny book written by Julia Donaldson, well known British author of The Gruffalo. The book is really fun to read to the little ones in Halloween month, but it does have a scary fire-breathing dragon in it! A little later he turns out to be a no too bad dragon, but it was a bit scary! The mini-monsters really like the book now anyway!
The great drawings by Julia Donaldson's regular illustrator Axel Scheffler are instantly recognizable and very funny, a bit like cartoon-style. You regularly come across his work, on snazzie's book of the week.
