The fascination for Ancient Egypt is not over at snazzie. The more we read the more inspiration we get to make crafts. Today we make a sarcophagus of caly with a mummie in it. Looking for inspiration? Look here
How to make a Sarcofhagus
Cut out a bottom, 4 walls and a lid from Das clay.
Fit the tomb together, see if you need to crop.
Lay down walls and lid and write hieroglyphs on them.
Write them full, like it was done in Ancient Egypt.
Spread glue on both sides of the objects.
Let the glue dry for 5 minutes, press tight.
When the glue is completly dry roll a snake.
Fill the corners up with the clay roll..
The sarcaphagus is looking good but not ready yet.
Roll a mummie out of clay, let it dry thoroughly.
Cut the tea coloured bandage lengthwise in half.
Wrap the mummie in bandages then put it in the sarcophagus.
We continue with grave objects etc. but not today!
We would like to give the sarcophagus an 'old' colour and the birdcage sand you see in the last picture too.The grave objects should be painted as well because the Pharaohs took a lot of gold and jewels with them. But first all clay has to dry really well.
So the painting will be done later, see you soon!
