Today we're making Oreo truffles, and the little monsters are very exited. Will these truffles be delicious, or will it be a waste of their beloved cookies? Unfortunately, after mixing the cookie crumbs with the cream cheese, we can't roll any balls; the mixture is too sticky and way too soft.
After adding another package of the cookies, our little problem was solved. The result is that instead of approximately 20 truffles, we now have almost 40. But... they disappear like snow in the sun! :)))
How to make Oreo Truffles
Crumble the cookies in the food processor.
Ground the biscuits not to finely.
Add the cream cheese to the biscuits.
Mix the biscuits with the cream cheese until combined.
The original recipe calls for 200g of cream cheese but that's way too much, it makes the filling extremely soft and sticky, so we reduced it to 100g in our recipe.
In every kitchen sometimes things go wrong !
Allow the filling to stiffen in the fridge.
Roll it into balls between your hands.
Place them on a plate with waxed paper.
Place the balls in the freezer until the chocolate has melted.
Melt the chocolate au bain marie and let it cool a few minutes.
Dip the Oreo balls into the melted chocolate.
Place the truffles on a wire rack with waxed paper.
Immediately scatter the sprinkles on top or drizzle the truffles with melted white chocolate
Allow the chocolate to set in the refrigerator.
The Oreo truffles are not pretty but they are very yummie,
It's no problem at all that we have twice as many truffels ;))
