What do you need?
a piece of cardstock
pencil
scissors
wool in one or two colors
a large embroidery needle
thread of embroidery yarn
Two eyelets (Pipoos)
Make for Easter an old-fashioned pompom hare. With two pieces of cardboard and a ball of wool your sweet little hare will be ready soon!
How to begin:
Trace two small and two larger circles on cardboard (using a glass) then cut them out. Drill a hole in the middle with your scissors and cut a smal circle out of the middle.
Place 2 cardstock circles on each other, wind them with wool.
Go on until the hole is almost filled, use a big needle.
Slide the wool until you see the cardstock circles.
Stick your scissors between the circles and cut the wool.
Slide the circles a little to the outer edge.
Knot a thread in between the circles and pull it tight.
Slide the cardboard circles from the pompom.
Roll the pompom between your hands then trim it neatly.
Sew the pompoms together with the adhering woolen threads.
Knot the threads on body and head firmly together, cut off.
Fold a piece brown felt double and cut out two hare's ears.
Sew the ears double with a few stitches on the underside.
Press the ears into the pompom head then sew them on.
Trace 5 small circles on thin cardstock, 4 paws and 1 tail.
Punch a hole in the middle and cut a bigger hole out.
Wind the circles and continue like the head and body.
Knot the leggs together then sew them on.
Attach the tail to the body.
You can buy eyes for soft toys but a bead is fine too.
Sew the eyes on the head.
Embroider a nose with thick pink yarn on the hare.
Check your hare all around for stray wool, trim it where needed.
In the picture Hare sits outside but he likes the Easter table too.
We wish you a happy Easter already!
