We have a very large collection of the most beautiful sea shells, from home and abroad. And every summer we are still adding ;)) Sometimes you want to do something fun with it and on youtube we saw a lady who made lights of shells. We immediately got to work and made a shell still life. The youngest mini-monsters find it so beautiful, they are just speechless...
How to make shell lights
Make a bain marie.
Place your shells in sand.
Cut wicks to size.
Drip glue into the shells.
Stick the wicks into the shells.
Melt the candles au bain marie.
Stir a little.
Be careful with the melted candle wax, pour it gently into the sea shells!
First we make pink.
Then blue.
We try for turqois / mint green.
It turns out to be yellow :))
We chop a tea light.
Melting it au bain marie.
Making our final shell white.
Sprinkle sand on a serving tray.
Arrange the sea shells in the sand as you like it.
The sand looks cute but it also has an important function, the shells will stay firmly upright in it.
We wish you all a wonderful summer!
