How to make orange ice cream
If you are using an ice machine you place the container one day ahead in the freezer.
Bring the water with the sugar to the boil.
Dissolve the sugar then turn off the heat.
Grate the skin of 1 of the oranges.
Juice the four oranges and the half lemon.
Allow the sugar water to cool while you grate and juice the fruit.
Stir the juice into the water.
Add the orange zest.
Add the cream while stirring.
Stir until combined.
Pour into the ice cream maker.
Churn for +/- 20 minutes.
Have a taste.
If you do not use an ice machine place the ice cream in the hollowed oranges in the freezer for a minimum of 3 hours and you take it out 15 minutes before eating it.
Cut scary faces in the hollowed oranges then fill them.
Have a grisly good Halloween!
