Today we're making fun figures that all have to do with St. Patrick's Day. So, we'll start with the rainbow and the pot of gold. Just look online to see what those two things have to do with St. Patrick's Day! We'll sew both figures closed with a blanket stitch; that looks pretty and it's easy.
How to make the rainbow and the pot of gold
Print the PDF pattern and cut out the figures
Pin the pattern parts onto felt.
Cut the figures out of the felt.
This is what the rainbow should look later.
Pin the first bow on one piece white felt.
Sew the bow on with tiny running stitches.
Place the second bow on top and sew on too.
Sew on the other bows in the same way.
Sew the purple bow invisibly, through securing the bow to the white back with tiny stitches
Then pin the second white bow onto the rainbow
Tie on your thread, on the inside of the rainbow.
Insert the needle through both sides, through the loop, pull tight.
Pull the thread tight and that's the blanket stitch.
Leave the underside open, stuff it and blanket stitch it closed.
How to make the pot of gold
Pin the pot on brown and the coins on yellow felt.
Cut out the pot and coins twice and pin them together.
Sew the pot together using the blanket stich.
Tie of firmly and leave the top open.
Stuff the pot lightly.
Blanket stitch the gold coins all around.
Stuff the coins and tie them off.
Sew the golden coins on the inside of the pot.
Now the rainbow and the pot with gold are ready to play with.
Wishing you lots of fun on St. Patrick's Day!
