Just in time for Diwali we found fun cute picture book The Diwali Gift. Unfortunately, the book has not been translated into Dutch and we think that's a shame! Because the story is very cute. For Diwali, three little monkeys receive a present in the mail from Grandpa. But it's not Diwali yet so they have to wait to open it. They wonder what's inside the box and tthey imagine everything, but what could it be?
The writers Shweta Chopra and Shuchi Mehta let the monkeys tell you in a fun way what the celebration of Diwali is all about and how it is celebrated. They use the correct names in Hindi for this so it is also an instructive book. The funny illustrations by Anna Koan are sweet and colorful, they fit perfectly with the Diwali party.
A wonderful book to read to the mini-monsters and the book also makes a lovely present, to give on Diwali!
