Our book of this week is The Numberlys, another very special book, by William Joyce, one of our favorite authors! The story, the illustrations and the excution of this book are all carefully thought out, just like with all Moonbot productions. That makes the work of writer, illustrator, filmmaker and animator William Joyce so appealing. Everything that comes out of Moonbot studios is intelligent and impresses, both children and adults.
The story is about a people that has no language, they have only numbers. Therefore they are called the Numberlys. When 5 smart friends find life boring with all those boring numbers, they put their heads together...
The first half of the book is in black and white, very clever because it gives the story an enormous punch. The main characters are just so adorable, an awesome debut by illustrator Christina Ellis.
