With a party coming on and all the lovely summer fruits at our local market we make sorbet in different fruit flavours. Today it will be watermelon, fresh and summery. With or without an ice cream makerit's easy & fun to do and the kids love to help in the kitchen!
Start 24 hours before you need it!
with an ice maker: place the container 24 hours in advance in the freezer. Churn the ice for half an hour and it is ready.
without an ice maker: When you come to * pour the ice mixture in a tupperware box and place it in the freezer. Rake a fork through the ice after an hour and repeat that two times more. The next day your sorbet is ready.
This easy you make watermelon sorbet
Bring water and sugar to a boil, dissolve the sugar, let it cool.
Peel the melon, remove the pips as much as possible and cube it.
Blend the melon cubes smooth then blend with the cool syrup, in parts.
Juice the lime and mix the juice with the melon-syrup mixture.
Rub the mixture through a sieve to make sure all pips are removed.
*Get the container from the freezer and pour in the melon mixture.
This is what the sorbet looks like before churning.
After half an hour of churning your sorbet is ready.
Immediately eaten the sorbet tastes best.
