125g plain flour
75g softened butter
75g caster sugar
½ free range organic egg (room temperature)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon baking powder
various colours icing fondant
icing sugar, for your workspace
edible paint marker
We read a lot of fun, beautiful, interesting dinosaur books, in July. The mini-monsters love dinosaurs! We are cozily eating dinosaur biscuits, because those are the monsters' favorite biscuits and they are ready quickly. So it's a win-win situation!
How to make dinosaur cookies
Beat butter and sugar creamy.
Beat in the eggs one by one.
Beat in the vamilla too.
Sit in flour and baking powder.
Fold in the flour in 3 parts.
Scrape the edges clean.
Knead the dough briefly by hand.
Wrap the dough in cling film.
Place it 1 hour in the fridge.
Briefly knead the dough.
Roll it to 1cm thickness.
Preheat the oven to 175°C
Cut the dinosaurs out of the dough.
Place 10 minutes in the refrigerator.
Bake the biscuits in +/- 10 minutes.
Let the dinosaur biscuits cool 10 mins. on the baking tray.
Let them cool completely on the wire rack.
While the biscuits are cooling down we cut out dinosaurs, from coloured fondant icing
Knead the fondant icing until it's soft.
Roll it out thinly and cut out dinosaurs.
Stick the fondant on the biscuits using a drop of water.
Cut out spots and eyes using a straw.
Stick it all on and draw some details on the dinosaurs.
Now they are ready, we brew the tea and fetch a lovely book!
