150g softened butter, (cubed)
150g caster sugar
2 free range organic eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
150g self raising flour
a pinch of salt
3 - 4 apples
apricot jam
Also needed: a cake baking tin
The new apple harvest is great again, so we don't miss the chance to taste the apples. We immediately bake a simple, very tasty apple cake with the little monsters, for our Sunday coffee and tea. The monsters can already help so much, look how neatly the apple slices are divided over the cake!
How to bake a delicious apple cake
Put the sugar and butter in the mixer.
Mix it until it's creamy, for 8 .10 minutes.
Beat in the eggs, one by one, until it is well combined.
Finally beat in the vanilla extract.
The mixer can go we continue by hand
Sift the flour gradually in the butter mixture.
Fold the flour in with a spatula.
Grease the baking tin and place paper in it.
Preheat the oven to 200°C
Spoon the batter into the baking tin.
Smoothen the top using a spoon.
Wash and peel the apples.
Cut the apples in slices.
Insert the apple slices neatly into the cake. :))
Bake the cake for 30 minutes.
Place the baking tin on a wire rack.
Spread the jam on the cake immediately, but do not remove it from the baking tin yet, let it cool in the tin first
Spread the apricot jam over the cake.
Lift the cake with the paper out of the tin.
