Now that the days are getting shorter it can sometimes get quite dark after school, so we're making a pretty fairy lantern with our little monsters. We're using the sweet poetry pictures by Cicely Mary Barker.
We bought these pictures once to stick in the poetry albums of classmates and now they're coming in handy again. If you do not have pictures of fairies you can find them online and print them.
How to make a sweet fairy lantern
Cut out the pictures.
Cut 2 circles out of felt.
Stick 1 on the lid of the jar.
Allow the glue to dry well.
Stick a picture on the battery holder.
Place the lights in the jar for a moment.
Place the pictures inside as well.
Check whether the pictures fit and whether they look pretty in the lantern
Dab some glue here and there on the pictures.
Thinly sprinkle glitter powder over the places with glue.
Let the glue dry and tap of any excess glitter.
Wrap a wire around the rim of the pot and tighten it.
Finally stick the ivy leaves and the little flowers on top.
Now turn on the lights and see how pretty your Flower Fairy lantern looks!
