We're making Irish leprechaun hats because today is St. Patrick's Day and that involves mischievous leprechauns, a rainbow, and a pot of gold. These leprechauns are very well-known in Ireland, and many books have been written about them. But today we're just making their hats, to use them for decoration. These hats look so cute, pretty in emerald green with a beautiful gold buckle. We're getting started right away!
How to make an Irish leprechaun hat
Glue 8 ice sticks vertical together.
Glue two horizontal on the bottom.
Allow the glue to dry thoroughly!
While the glue is drying, you carry on with the band and buckle that go on the hat
Cut 2 black cardstock strips.
Cut a rectangle out of gold.
Stick the rectangle onto the strip.
Stick a black rectangle on top.
Let the glue dry in peace for a moment and meanwhilemove on to the painting of the hat
Mix light green paint with dark green.
Paint the hat neatly emerald green.
Let the paint dry and paint the hat once more.
Let the hat dry again, paint the narrow edge all around it green as well and let the paint dry again
Now stick the band onto the hat and cut it to fit, if needed.
We decorate our candy bowl with the cute leprechaun hats.
Have lots of fun today!
