We are making Icicles

that do not melt

What do you need?
The printed patterns
Origami paper in icy colors
A pencil
Scissors
A lancet
Yarn
Craft glue
Glitter
A thick branch
Optional: white paint and a brush

The little monsters are eager to make a fun winter craft, so we're making icicles. Luckily, they're not freezing cold to the touch and won't melt indoors with the heater on. That's really true, as long as you make them out of paper and not of frozen water ;))

Make the icicles from different colours of origami paper. Then fold them, glue them together and tie the icicles with a thin sewing thread to a bare tree branch. It is winter, after all!

How to make Icicles

First download the patterns and then cut them out

Trace the outline of the pattern on origami paper.

Fold the pattern and trace the folding lines as well.

Draw a folding line beneath the points on top of the icicles.

Cut out the icicles and neatly fold them.

Glue 3 of the points on top together and let the glue dry.

First glue the long side of the icicle closed and then the final point.

Allow the glue to dry well and start on the next icicle.

Make as many icicles as you like to hang from the branch and then you can - optional - spread some glue on and sprinkle glitter on the icicles, if you like

Lace a thread trough the icicles and tie the end in a loop.

Glue the last side of the top point closed and let the glue dry.

Hang the icicles -  using their loops - on a pretty bare branch, you can sparsly dab some white paint on the branch, if you like.

Happy Winter!
