150g summer carrots
juice of 5 lemons
juice of 1 orange
150g cane sugar
sparkling water
ice cubes to taste
This home-made carrot lemonade seemed like a great recipe for hot summer days to us, but what would the mini-monsters think? We started with half of the ingredients (because we do not throw away food at snazzie). The lemonade turned out to be surprisingly yummie, so feel free to make the whole recipe!
How to make carrot lemonade
Scrape the carrots then grate them.
Place the grated carrots in a bowl.
Squeeze the lemons, add it to the carrots.
Squeeze the orange and add the juice to the carrots too.
Add the cane sugar too, stir it into the carrot mixture.
Stir firmly so the sugar can absorb the juices.
Place the carrot mixture in the fridge for a few hours.
Stir now and then so the sugar dissolves completely in the juice
Sieve the grated carrot from the syrup.
Pour 25-50ml of syrup into the glasses.
Top with 200 ml of sparkling water.
Add ice cubes to taste.
Now we go and drink it outside, in the sunshine!
