For Halloween, we’re making coffins—not for ghosts, but candy coffins. After all, what do you need more with Halloween, ghosts or candy? First, print our pattern and cut it out. Then it’s not complicated to make your own sturdy candy box. One you can open and close again and again. ;)))
Here’s how to make your own candy coffin
Here’s how to make your own candy coffin
Neatly cut out the printed pattern.
Place it on cardboard and trace it with pencil and ruler.
First cut out all the parts of the coffin.
Check if all the parts fit neatly together.
Stick the coffin together with a glue gun.
Stick the sides on top of the bottom.
Allow the glue to set for a moment.
The box is finished now; now you make the lid.
Glue the sides not ON but AROUND the lid!
This makes the lid slightly larger, so it will fit perfectly over the coffin!
Here's how to finish the coffin:
You can paint the coffin with acrylic paint in any colour you like, but then the edges won't look very neat.
You can glue paper on the outside (and over the edges) of the coffin and paint the inside, like we do. You choose!

Trace the patterns on craft paper and cut them out.
Glue the craft paper around the coffin, the edges will stick out.
Fold the edges over and glue them too.
Finish the lid in the same way and let the gue dry.
Once the glue is thoroughly dry, you paint the coffin on the inside
Neatly paint the inside black.
Both the bottom and the sides.
Let the paint dry completely.
Decorate your candy coffin with a skull and bones; a ghost; a spider & cobwebs or look online for inspiration
Decorate the coffin as you like.
We put only wrapped candy in the coffin, to be on the safe side ;)
We serve our marshmallow ghosts on the side ;))
