What do you need?
Printed pattern of the head
A paper cup
Light brown acrylic paint
A paintbrush
Piece of white cardstock
Small piece of yellow cardstock
A pencil
Scissors
Craft glue
Black felt-tip pen
Googly eyes
Today we are making a baby eagle for the Fourth of July. The eagle is an important symbol for the United States. You see it in the President's coat of arms on every important occasion. We just bought a fun board book about the meaning of July 4th and about eagles; that is surely not a coincidence!

Here is how to make a baby eagle
First mix your paint in the desired colour.
Is your colour still a little to dark too?
Then mix it with a little yellow and stir well.
Paint neatly, but do not use too much paint!
Spread the paint out well.
Allow the paint to dry completely.
Meanwhile trace the bird's head.
Neatly cut out all the pattern parts.
Stick the eyes and the beak onto the head.
Brush glue on both wings and wait a moment.
Then press the wings firmly onto the body.
Stick the bird's head onto it's body
Allow the glue to dry completely again.
