Next week is Thanksgiving and we are already reading the fun Thanksgiving picture books to the little monsters. To play with, we make finger puppets from wool felt for the little listeners. Do you want them too? Today you can start with the Corn on the Cob and next week you can make the Turkey. That will be fun with the little ones again!
How to make the corn on the cob finger puppet
Pin the patterns on the felt and cut it out.
Insert embroidery thread into the needle and embroider the corn.
Tie on firmly, on the back of the felt
Start bij stitching 4 small stitches across the corn cob.
Sew with small back stitches in rows that are as neat as you can
This is how the backstitch looks.
Continue until you reach the top.
Sew back to the bottom but length wise.
Pin the 2 corn cob parts on each other and sew them together using the blanket stitch
Insert the needle but do not pull it all through.
Leave a tiny loop and insert the needle through it.
Pull the thread all the way through.
Continue sewing until you're all around the corn cob.
Pin on the leaves.
Pin them also on the back.
Sew them on both sides.
Just sew on the eyes, with 3 stitches on top of each other.
Your Corn CoB finger puppet is ready!
Next week we make it's Turkey friend!
