How to make a Friendship Bravcelet

for your BFF

What do you need?
Various colours of wool, (thread length: +/- 50cm)
A wooden knotting Star OR
A sturdy piece of cardboard
An empty can or another round object
Pencil and ruler
Scissors
A piercing mat and a piercing pin

Today, we’re making fun friendship bracelets out of wool. You can make them for yourself or for your best friends. It’s a really fun project, and you’ll get faster as you get the hang of the knotting technique. We’re using wool today, but you can also make them using cotton thread. Since we have just one knotting star we also make some more of cardboard, so everyone can join in.

How to knot a friendship bracelet
Trace the tin onto cardboard.
Draw a thick dot in the center.
Draw a + over the dot and then an x.
Cut out the circle neatly.
Prick a hole on the dot.
Make the hole wider, using scissors.
Push the threads through the hole as follows.
Cut off 7 threads in various beautiful colours, each at least 50 cm long
Tie a firm knot in the threads.
Push the other side through the hole.
Push the threads through using scissors.
Pull them through up to the knot.
Now you can start braiding!
Pull 7 thread into 7 slots.
Place the empty slot downwards, in front of you.
Count three threads to the left.
The green thread goes downwards.
Turn the empty slot downwards.
Count three times left: yellow.
Yellow goes downwards.
Turn the empty slot downwards.
Keep going on like this!
Gently pull the knot now and then.
And look how cute! You can already see the start of your bracelet... :)))

But you can also see right away that you still have a while to go before you reach the length of a bracelet ;) So keep going, it will go faster and faster!

Slide the star from your bracelet and tie a knot at the end.
Push the first knot through the end, just before the second knot.
Our BFF is Bear (Duh!!)—we don't have to think twice about that! Our little monsters can make bracelets themselves, but with bear paws? That’s really hard!
