How to decorate your Super Mario Biscuits

with coloured fondant icing

What do you need?
Super Mario cookies
Red fondant
White fondant
Yellow fondant
Green fondant
Small piece of brown fondant
Small piece of black fondant
Water and a brush
Cookie cutters

The biscuits are done, and it was no small task with three baking trays full. :))) But we're thinking about how happy our sweet birthday boy will be when he sees them, so we're bravely carrying on! He loves fondant, and that suits us just fine. It's better to cut and glue fondant than to use royal icing. With the right cutters, it'll be nice and quick, almost as fast as these biscuits will disappear, at the party!

How to decorate the Super Mario biscuits

Sprinkle your bakeing mat with icing sugar.

Knead the fondant icing until soft.

Roll the fondant icing thinly.

Cut out circles and the letter M.

Brush water on the back of the icing M's.

Press the M's on the biscuits.

While the first cookies are drying, we continue with the red circles, which we will use to make Super Mario Mushrooms

Cut a sort of oval out of the circle.

Place the oval on the remaining circles.

Cut out of all the circles the same oval..

Stick the circles on top of the biscuits.

Knead and roll out a piece of white icing.

Cut smaller circles out of the icing.

Stick the small circles with some water on the hats.

Cut some of the smaller circles in halves.

Stick the halved circles also onto the hats.

Allow the mushroom hats to dry together with the M's.

Meanwhile we quickly make the stars

Knead and roll out yellow icing.

Cut out stars and stick them on.

How to make mushroom faces.

Roll out skin coloured icing.

Cut off the ends using an egg cookie cutter.

Stick the faces on the mushrooms with some water.

Tip: if you cut out the icing fondant on a thin layer of icing sugar, it will stick better to the biscuits, so sprinkle some more now and then!

Here's how to make Yoshi's eggs

Roll out a bigger piece of white icing.

Cut out egg shapes.

Stick the eggs on the biscuits.

Cut out green circles.

Stick full and halve circles onto the eggs.

Allow the icing on the biscuits to dry.

Yoshi's eggs are ready too!

Hang in there, you're almost done! Just add eyes to the stars and the mushrooms

Roll tiny, thin snakes of black fondant icing.

Cut of little pieces and stick them on.

Stick eyes on the mushrooms as well.

Look how cute, we have plates full of biscuits!

FYI: we are making more Super Mario treats this month!

You will see them appear on snazzie throughout the month !
