125g all-purpose flour
a pinch of salt
3 free-range organic eggs
250ml milk
1 tablespoon melted butter + extra
Decoration
2 large, ripe bananas
a slice watermelon
2 pieces chocolate, milk and white
A little honey
Optional: Nutella spread
Today we are making sushi for the little monsters, without fish, of course. Our little monsters do not eat fish. They believe fish should be able to swim freely, without fear of humans catching and eating the. That is how it should be, hence our special fish-free sushi.
How to make Sushi without fish
Sift flour and salt into a bowl.
Beat in the eggs, one by one.
Melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
Add the milk to it.
Finally add the melted butter.
Beat it until well combined.
Heat the pan with a knob of butter.
Spoon in a ladle of batter.
Fry the pancake for 1-2 minutes.
Flip and fry for another 1-2 minsutes.
Go on frying until all batter is gone.
While the pancakes cool completely you prepare the filling
The filling consists of fruit and chocolate.
Peel the melon and cut it in pieces.
Remove the pips from the melon rectangles.
Peel the bananas and cut them into pieces, cut the pancakes into strips
- White chocolate sushi: crush a raspberry and roll with banana in pancake, brush with a drop honey, sprinkle with grated chocolate
- Milk chocolate sushi: (thinly!) spread Nutella on the pancake strips, roll in banana and brush with a drop honey, sprinkle grated chocolate
- Melon sushi: Roll the banana in the pancake, place a piece of melon on top and cover with a strip of black fondant icing
Roll pieces of banana and raspberry in the strips.
Spread with honey, grate white chocolate on top.
Fill with banana and Nutella, spinkle chocolate.
The sushi looks great and it tastes very good as well!
With a nice cup of green tea on the side, delicious!
